The Hairpie is big, and bad: a thick, totally rock vibe pedal. There's plenty of drive, but it's focused well down in the EQ. This is the kind of effect that can do wonders for thickening solos on Strats, and Tele's as they move into the upper registers of the neck. What a nice way to tell your audience: "Enough already with the glassy overtones, the kid's about to make a statement!" Also, the Hair Pie excells in many areas where a super-full sound is needed.Using a modest EQ with it, (occasionally), IOHO, can turn it's character, from thick filler; to a focused, or cutting edge. This option will make the Hairpie a wildly useful pedal. No fault is implied by this EQ reference; please note: respected musicians, like Pink Floyd's, David Gilmour add some EQ shaping to their sound, and particularily with the Big Muff, the Hairpie's inspiration.
This prototype pedal from Ron NeelyII, is like a box of sonic steroids
that'll put bold meat on bones of the most undernourished guitar
rigs. RonSound
