The Prescription Electronics Experience
The Experience Pedal is an all out tribute to the music, and times Jimi Hendrix. When initially manufactured; these pedals were even decorated with a psychedelic paint job. This was accomplished by dipping the boxes in multiple floating layers of swirled paint. This technique produces a "Tie-Dyed" look on non-cloth objects. That time intensive process has given way to a vivid purple, coating, but the sound remained the same.

Again, Prescription Electronics ventures into slightly non-standard options, while remaining firmly rooted in the familiar. The controls on this pedal are: Volume, Tone, Sustain, and Swell. These knobs are totally sufficient to produce a big, smooth fuzz, a foot selectable "Octavia" that tracks well, singing like an industrial Canary, plus the "Swell" function. You can even back the gain down to where it isn't overwhelming.

In addition to it's obvious appeal, this would be a good candidate for more conservative players who need, or want to get "wild and crazy" a few times a night, and produce a massive contrast to their usual sound. The Experience Pedal is one of the least anti-social of the power pedals.

Once you have this effect fully engaged, you can kick on the Swell function with a well placed boot on footswitch number three. Now; at the point where your notes normally decay to silence; a little Amp/compression circuit kicks in, and pushes the sustain, and volume of picked notes up a notch or two before disappearing. All things considered, we acknowledge PE for offering something a little different; but the swell requires special settings to work, and then doesn't swell very much.

From the "Jungle Tom-Toms": Intercepted "Deep Forrest Transmissions": Restless natives "in the know", have signaled that PE Experience Pedal draws heavily on the Foxx "Tone Machine", circuit, with some extra filtering added to impart a bit smoother, more civilized disposition. At a somewhat more literal level, we invite you to also listen to our Hornby Skewes, "Zonk Machine" made in England, about 30 years ago, as a cross-reference. It has both a strong fuzz, and strong swell function; among the very first; if not the first guitar pedal to feature this effect.
