Moonrock
The Moonrock! The Moonrock has just two, (2); easy to use knobs. Together, with your guitar; they control the most interactive, yet simple & melodic pedal, we've found.

Effects range from a sweet octave up, to auto Swells, and gushing harmonics, to a good time rock-n-roll tone, that crunches & sings in front of a tube amp.

Moonrock effects spring from a fuzz/distortion mix, with it's own flavor. This is the heart and soul of this pedal: then unique options spring from the center of this voice.

Harmonic effects: Adding effects in one direction, first brings out a higher octave, then on, to 'max' the gain in a gushing 'fire hose' of sound. He're where you find ring modulation & intermodulation distortion. A brilliant emulation of the Ampeg Scrambler: a vintage pedal; so rare, extreme, (and expensive), there are rumors about it. We demonstrate this sound, and more, in our audio demonstrations below. This is Tonefrenzy.com, you HAD to hear this one!

Swell/compression effects: Dialing, in the other direction; Moonrock has strong Swell effects that can be added to the fuzz. By 'maxing' effects in this direction, some notes, can be made to sound after your pick attack. The best part: all the effects of the Moonrock can be changed; significantly, by adjusting your guitar's volume knob & pickup selector.

Tonefrenzy is pleased to be exclusive distributor of the Moonrock. Audio samples and pricing information are below. However, before you click to hear this great 'invention', please read the next two, short questions. They explain the best parts of the effects.

Question #1) : How can the Moonrock's effects be controlled from your guitar? Will I need extra cables, or a control box?

Answer: Fuzz face pedals, allow fuzz changes with volume, and octave pedal's effects are often enhanced by pickup selection. There have also been some Swell effects, pedals.

Now; what if a device expanded, (wildly), on these effects combined? Taking it all to the next level, with two knobs, (and one battery).

The Moonrock features Fuzz, Swell and harmonics, ALL controlled by guitar's volume; and choice of pickups. Your guitar's pickup selecter, volume & the effects, can finally mesh. Your guitar can take on functions, like a hand-held expression pedal. Serious freedom, with nothing else to buy, no interface or drilling.

Question #2) : Are these effects easy to dial-in, (repeatedly), on stage?

Answer: Yes! All Moonrock effects are set with ONE KNOB! (the left knob).

Some postings have understandably speculated:"how can such a range, be ballanced with two knobs?" Well, they were right, the effects are ballanced with ONE knob! Easily and, beautifully, too! The second knob (the right one), primarily sets intensity & saturation.

The work of artist Glenn Wyllie; the Moonrock creates many flavors. 'In-between' tones, can be de-emphasisized, or increased by how you play. Backing off your volume in ANY effect, returns you to the neat fuzz tone, at the 'core of it's being'. The additional effects, seem to pour out from the center of it's primary voice, when you want them. At low volume, the Moonrock can even sound like an overdrive. (Also heard in our demo, below).

Well integrated, not extreme, unless you insist. NO sound effects, sirens, blurts, or howling, in the middle of a gig; no extra switches, or patchchords: it's not a novelty pedal. Moonrock's most extreme effects are soothed with a quick rolloff, of your volume knob. Interaction -- and control!

Three Audio Samples below

Moonrock Natch'l: A clean chord is struck three times, then the Moonrock weighs in. A great rock tone, big, but not shapeless. Notice; inflections in the playing bringing out more/less distortion, not unusual -- until the pickup switch is changed. Then, at 34 seconds into the audio; suddenly, rigmodulated harmonics surround the playing. Listen to the pickup switch being flipped at the end of this sample. More than just bass/treble can change, with pickup selection. Play it straight, or not: your choice. Tone is changed at the guitar, not the pedal.

Moonrock Contrast Features quick takes in a sequence. First; clean guitar tone: That's a Peter Belov Amplifier, prototype head in these three samples: c-l-e-a-n. The Moonrock is kicked on, followed by subtle guitar adjustments, then distortion mixed with a bit of swell. Like a living compressor in heat, then right back to a more standard-sounding rock tone.

Then the left knob, (there's a right one as well), is cranked: This is the full "volume envelope" effect. Fuzz is decreased, sound swells after pick attacks, for a pretty decent reverse tape, or giant violin effect. Not flawless, but nice! (Even the fabled Attack/Decay, lets some pick attacks through). Lastly; two short clips pasted together: a Stock Telecaster, then a Les Paul; bending two strings. This sets up some intermodulation distortion, behind the primary notes, you'd expect. Notice how this is created at will, and stops the instant TWO strings, aren't bent at once.

Moonrock in Scrambler Land: Audio starts with Moonrock turned down to a robust overdrive setting. This OD sound provides the grease, starting with a R&B/Rock rhythm figure. Then the guitar's volume is cranked, producing one of the best Ampeg Scrambler emulations around.

The guitar tour hearing, is a stock Telecaster. Remarkable to achieve this saturation, with such low output pickups! The tone with humbuckers is much heavier, with more bass. Note the texture of ringmodulation, turning into octaves & who knows what: all by how the guitar is played. There is no manipulation of the pedal in this sample, only the volume knob on the guitar turned up, about 14 seconds into the demo.

Tonefrenzy.com sells the Moonrock pedal, priced at $225.
