The controls for the SF-10, Swell Flanger pedal are: Speed, Regeneration, (effortless, controllable regeneration; that can go forever even at low volume), Width, Time (decay).
This is a fun pedal; it's got character, and a couple of tricks up its sleeve. This is one of the "Ten Series", pedals made by Ibanez in the mid-eighties. Once you find one, they're not expensive. If you already have a flanger you use in a subtle tasteful way; and yearn for some over the top flanger effects, you may not need to invest in an ADA unit. Ditto, if you want a flanger just for some occasional craziness; again the SF-10 will get you there without going broke.
We've included a variety of options this pedal can provide, in our sound files below. It's a good noise maker, and superb at continuing a pattern at any volume you like. Hard to beat this unit at the above, especially for the price.
Here's a little secret, so please don't repeat this...OK? One day the Swell Flanger just happened to be set in a grating pattern, and left on at subliminal volume. Apparently an extension speaker was set right behind our main computer. Someone must have wondered how long it would take our Webmaster, (who was just arriving for a session of "super seriousness"), to realize it was this flanger that was getting on his nerves. Hee Hee! Yes...Someone might have done that...be still my heart. Kids: and even you kids with kids of your own; as John Mellencamp, (sp?) said: "hold on to sixteen as l-o-n-g as you can"! And f*** 'em if they can't take a joke!
