The Tube Driver was the first overdrive pedal we experienced, that used a real preamp tube to deliver the goods, usually a 12AX-7, or similar preAmp tube. Invented by BK Butler, this pedal was distributed; early on, by Paul Chandler of California.
Mr. Butler has contacted Tonefrenzy re: this piece of gear, and its origin. Now that we've caught up with some of our old business, we'll be contacting Mr. Butler, to offer him space, bandwidth, and an opportunity to get factual about this highly regarded overdrive. Famous, and very well respected guitarists Eric Johnson, and David Gilmour, (of Pink Floyd), sent the sound of the Tube Driver around the World...(a couple of times).
